Have you ever stood at the edge of the beach where the waves move in over your feet and beyond, and then back out again? It can be difficult to stay standing. If you stay there long enough for a few waves to go back and forth, you find that your feet have now sunk up to your ankles.

Every so often in our lives something will happen that we have simply no control over. We haven’t done anything wrong. We are not being punished. There’s a situation for which we can “do” nothing.

Each of us has a sphere of influence. Oh yes you do too! Large or small, God has given each a sphere of influence. Think of the people you come in contact with - spouse, children, grandchildren, neighbor, the checkout girl at the market, the co-worker who drives you crazy...

As we get near yet another school year, let's pray for our kids and grandkids heading back. They are not just the future of our world – they are the present – and they are eternal!

Whenever I read about the Israelites in the desert, I get just a little bit prideful thinking “I would never have been that way.”  

Do you ever wonder if you are where you belong, or at least going in the right direction? Sometimes I think “Have I missed my destiny?”, “Am I going in the direction God wants for me?”, or “What am I missing?”
